Built for Denmark
Built for Danish companies
PolyOmi started with Danish rules, not as a translation of a foreign system. The Bookkeeping Act, Danish VAT, Danish payroll and the Danish language are part of the core, and a live checklist shows how your setup measures up.

The Bookkeeping Act, in plain terms
The Danish Bookkeeping Act (bogføringsloven, no. 700/2022) requires companies to keep their books digitally, with a voucher for every transaction, and to store the material for five years. The Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) sets the requirements that digital bookkeeping systems must meet.
Registered or not registered
Systems sold as standard products can be registered with Erhvervsstyrelsen. PolyOmi is self-hosted and is not a registered system. When you use a non-registered system, you as the company are responsible for making sure it meets Erhvervsstyrelsen's requirements for non-registered digital bookkeeping systems. That includes things you control yourself, such as keeping backup copies of your registrations and vouchers off-site.
How PolyOmi helps
PolyOmi is built to meet the requirements and gives you the tools to prove it:
- a compliance checklist that shows what is met and what needs attention
- automatic weekly off-site copies of your backups to storage you choose
- SAF-T export validated against the official schema
- five-year voucher retention and a voucher on every posting
- a hash-chained ledger where postings cannot be edited or deleted
Read the current rules and deadlines at erhvervsstyrelsen.dk. If you are unsure how the rules apply to your company, ask your accountant.
Compliance checklist
See where you stand, every day
The compliance page checks your setup against the law profile. It covers company details and CVR number, the fiscal year and closing of past years, the hash chain, vouchers on all postings, vouchers waiting in the inbox, VAT deadlines, bank reconciliation and off-site backup.
Each item is marked as met, needing attention or not met, with a link straight to where you fix it.
- Live status for every requirement
- One-click verification of the hash chain
- Direct links to fix what needs attention

EU and beyond
Denmark first, not Denmark only
The bookkeeping law is a setting in PolyOmi. A law profile decides the chart of accounts, VAT codes, retention period, SAF-T version and backup rules. Denmark is the first profile.
We plan to add law profiles for more EU countries, more languages, multi-company setups and more currencies.
- Law profile per country (Denmark today)
- More EU countries planned
Questions about Danish rules
Is PolyOmi registered with Erhvervsstyrelsen?
No. PolyOmi is a self-hosted system and is not registered. Companies using it follow Erhvervsstyrelsen's requirements for non-registered digital bookkeeping systems, and PolyOmi is built to help you meet them.
What do I need to take care of myself?
As the owner of a self-hosted, non-registered system, you are responsible for meeting the requirements. In practice that means keeping PolyOmi up to date, setting up off-site backup, attaching vouchers and keeping an eye on the compliance checklist. The checklist tells you when something needs attention.
Can I hand my books to the authorities or my accountant?
Yes. Export the books in SAF-T Financial DK 2.1, and export reports such as the income statement, balance sheet, trial balance and account ledger as PDF or CSV.
Where can I read the rules?
Erhvervsstyrelsen publishes the requirements and deadlines for digital bookkeeping at erhvervsstyrelsen.dk. Your accountant can help you with how they apply to your company.
